In general the welcome and over all stay was very nice. The beach clean and rooms very clean.
Disliked · I booked a sea view room but it was on the second row. The bar closed at 11 PM and there is no where else to sit and relax if you want to stay longer up.

The staff was very friendly and the prices for drinks and food was cheap compared to other Ressorts in Sansibar.
Disliked · The Ressort is nice and clean, but it is an old Ressort and need a bit Renovation/Modernisation compared to other Ressorts in Sansibar. There is nothing much to do in and around Uroa. So you need to stay in the Ressort.

The verges may have overgrown because of the recent rain
Disliked · Gardens could do with a pep up

The breakfast was great…a good spread daily and catered for ALL denominations. The common area was very chilled and quite nice to mingle with other nationalities. We were Wowed with the ocean in the backdrop as it gave us the opportunity to swim both in the pool and ocean. The staff is extremely friendly (Jumbo)….Hakuna Matata
Disliked · We didn’t like the idea of being shoved into the same corner each night at dinner. When we asked the staff they couldn’t answer appropriately.

The rooms were clean and they have entertainment every night.
Disliked · The staff are does not understand the international language of English. This makes communication bad. We had prawns that were not deveigned, so the chef said sorry and brought us new prawns, we then found that the new prawns were bad/ off. We were so disgusted we didnt finish our meal.

The property is well-maintained and beautiful. The access to the beach is easy and there are a lot of beach chairs/umbrellas for all guests on the property. The beach itself is long, but I’d recommend water shoes as it is a little rocky.
The hotel provides a dedicated tour office (recommend going to Stone Town) which made it easy to coordinate travel to other areas in Zanzibar. The staff was also very friendly.
I also scheduled an appointment with the spa and had an amazing massage. The food options were great and the type of menu changed nightly (for dinner) so you got a taste around the world.
Disliked · The use of a “card” to keep track of all purchases (depending on your boarding preferences) was a little cumbersome. It would be nice to have an option to swipe at the end of the meal or keep a running “tab” open throughout your stay.
The Wi-Fi also only works in the common areas (think reception, main restaurant, pool, beach) but not in the rooms (not an problem for me) but I had to get a new password to connect daily which was an annoyance.
Upon arrival, my air conditioner wasn’t working (it was resolved the next day) but the staff who came that night left without a clear resolution and said it was working. Also, the rooms were well maintained and very clean, but felt a little outdated/old.
Also, airport transfers are very expensive. Since it was my first time in Zanzibar, I wanted the most safe/reliable option, but I would recommend looking up a taxi or getting one when arriving.

The overall aura that was projected in the atmosphere.
Disliked · Whilst it isn’t very important, I think the resort staff could half provided umbrellas to walk to and from the rooms to the main area while it was raining.
The air conditions could have not been part of the power key connection and function while the guest is outside the room, in order to cool the room down in the meantime/ prior to guests’ arrival.

The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful, we loved the food and the best part of the experience was the tourist company on site that handled all our logistics and excursions, overall its a lovely place, great value for money!
Disliked · The common area toilets were not always clean, particularly the one behind the al cart restaurant. Language barrier is also a problem, the restaurant staff got our food orders wrong a few times, so its best to repeat yourself and double check every order.

The evening activities, the pool, and the staff.
Disliked · I think my room had bed bugs. Didn’t realize it until the last day when I woke up with bites all over.

Breakfast bar was great. Live entertainment at night was really fun. Drinks were reasonably priced.
Disliked · Hard to walk on the beach because of beach boys. Lots of seaweed almost made it unswimmable except for path out to break. Beds were also a little uncomfortable although rooms were clean and shower was great.

The facilities there are great
Disliked · My room wasnt properly cleaned daily, they would just make my bed and mop the floor.
The waiters have a terrible attitude especially towards black people I constantly had to run after them for service.
Receptionist called me at 8am to ask what time I’m checking out. I was only meant to check out at 10am. So I definitely won’t be going back to Uroa
