Sophia Hotel

Location is perfect, breakfast is amazing and staff was the best! Specially Maryuri, she was super kind and clever, helping us with every request during our stay. Totally recommended!!

Everything was amazing! From the very beginning the staff was very attentive and friendly. The hotel and room is so pretty and clean.

The Sophia hotel was fantastic! A good combination of corporate comfort with boutique decor. We loved the rooftop pool and bar, and the rooms were large with a super comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious- I liked that there was no curfew, that we could sleep in and eat whenever we wanted to. The location is very central. Would love to return here!

Stayed at Sophia Hotel from March 6th to 9th 2021. They are EXCCELLENT!! Breakfast was a la carte with lots of options. The food varies from American to Colombian and is delicious. The best part beside the exceptional service is that you can have breakfast at ANYTIME! Sleep in and don’t worry about breakfast hours.
Sophia Hotel exceeded our expectations about location, service, beautiful and updated premises and comfort. The bed have 6 comfortable pillows! Their full staff is committed to excellence. They arranged our transportation. Memorized our drinks for breakfast. Honored the price of our reservation. Helped us ordering pizza after midnight. Our room has a balcony to the plaza that is worth having, mostly in the night time when the city is so vibrant. The roof top is A++.

We had a great experience at the hotel, wonderful service from friendly staff. The view from the pool is absolutely stunning. The hotel is also close to everything in the old city.

Disliked · The hot water wasn’t the best and the internet didn’t work so well.

Service was top notch. With covid they use what’s app.for everything. I got food poisining and they were so attentive with needs to room, to answering questions about city. Location was perfect right in heart of old Town. Rooftop was beautiful. Free breakfast was great.

Fabulous for Mother/daughter trip. Beautiful room, cool and comfortable.
Rooftop pool and eating area was beyond spectacular and scenic. The best views of the harbor the old/new of Cartegena. The included breakfast was diverse, generous portion and delicious.

The staff was amazing! The pool was great, food was good, and we felt the neighborhood was safe. We had a great trip and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

I had the fortune of staying at Sophia for about one week, and I know for a fact that if it had not been for staying here at Sophia, my trip to Cartagena would have been an entirely different experience. Here you feel more like family than a customer/guest, and the level of service from the staff is unparalleled; I had the fortune of working closely with Jorge, Maryuris, and Mauricio during my stay, and the amount of grace, professionalism combined with their in-depth knowledge of the area made my time here unforgettable. From recommending the best places to eat, booking the perfect tour to the nearby islands, or handling one-off special requests that require high emotional intelligence, they have it all in spades. I do not know the next time I will be in Cartagena, but it is a no brainer that I will only do so if I can “come back home” to Sophia. Two last points I wanted to mention was how great it was being able to keep in touch with the staff using WhatsApp; I always felt connected, and that gave me more confidence to explore and enjoy the beautiful city, and lastly, the cold draft BBC beer on the gorgeous rooftop made watching sunsets somehow even more enjoyable.
