Nothing outstanding, but a good sleeping place just next to the port. AC was working and it was quiet, it’s all I need for a good sleep.

Next to the main whole sale fish market Stone Town Zanzibar.very basic place. Notice receptionist , little cafe on top of building.Bathroom traditional way .
Not that cheap comparing to many other hotels just around 5/ 10 radius from Princess Salme Inn.
Very intresting location as this area are very busy from morning till noon.

After getting refused at Malindi House nearby because of overboocking, we went to the Princess Salme Inn where they still had a free priceless room for us. Both Gutrudes (the hosts) are very helpfull and friendly and i would always come back to this place!

It is fine if you have a ferry to catch and won’t spend much time here. The sheets are clean (though stained) and towels are clean and large. The air conditioning works well and I believe there was hot water for a shower. There is quite a bit of street noise at night and early morning. You get what you pay for.

Beautiful rooms in and old building with style. Top floor breakfast is the best I’ve had in Zanzibar, so tasty! Nice big bathroom, ac and fan, nice staff.

Lovely hotel, we had an awesome room on the third floor. The rooms are a bit dirty on the floor. Great breakfast and a lovely owner. The area is ok.

You get what you pay for. Room had aircon and the breakfast was very good, but other than that, it’s a cheap option to sleep, not really to hang out. Staff were nice and the location was quiet

You pay for it online and then they want more money at the reception luckily I had a Swahili Speaker my friend on hand who told me that because you are White they are trying to scam you for money and say that itβs fake Hotel tax They give you a fake receipt which has nothing to do with the Tanzania government and Iβm pretty sure the money goes straight into their pocket. Not even to mention the overpriced breakfast of $4 us dollar. You can easily get a decent breakfast on the streets for a lot less than that $1-$2 And there is no such thing as double tax for the room. Iβm also sure they have something to do with the airport taxi Who will happily scam you as well.

Not the best area of town but the place itself is just FANTASTIC!! The receptionist, the lovely Gertrude, was the sweetest person we’ve met on the island and very helpful with finding nice spots to drink, eat and see the sunset and even to get us a rental car for a very good rate. The room was spotless and charming with nice water pressure and very quiet. Breakfast was up in a nice sunny terrace and the food was fantastic. Truly a great beginning of our trip for a price you simply can’t beat. I want that ginger and lime juice recipe!! πππ

The location is on the north end of the sea wall. All the action is on the south end. So you will have to walk a bit to get to the action. The walk is safe. Speaking af safes. The rooms do not have them as advertised and the desk will not hold valuables. That said its a very safe place. The staff are lovely. Its a good bang for the buck. Great breakfast. Neat little rooms. most important. The beds are firm and comfortable with a good choice of pillows.
