The hotel area was really big, with really beautiful garden. Hotel offers everything you need on holiday – massage, water sport equipment, pool, even darts and billiard. Food was very good, breakfast always freshly made once receiving orders. As super bonus for me – hotel is located bit further from main hotels in Nungwi – so if you want to have quiet neighborhood, it is exactly the place you need. Super big thank you for the staff – very helpful, friendly and almost invisible.

Location, beach
Disliked 路 Breakfast is until 10 but they start breaking it down at 9:30. Got there at 9 am the next day to make sure we can eat breakfast but by 9 buffet is pretty empty. Seems like they are in a hurry to close everyday.

Our room was upgraded. The bar in front of the beach, local beer and the pool that made a huge difference when we couldn’t swim at the sea. Lovely place for children and family. Maybe we were lucky but guests were respectful and quiet at night.
Disliked 路 The food. We had breakfast and dinner included and it was a bit of a hit and miss. I think if they improved the food considerably this place would be perfect–but the value for money is still unmatched in the area. Finally: the tax over usage of card is a little steep.

Great location right on the beach, with boardwalk, hammocks and places to sit. Wifi worked well in rooms. Aircon worked fine. A decent breakfast selection.
Disliked 路 Room was quite basic, tired furnishings. Bed was really hard and all 4 pillows were very hard (please mix up hard and soft). Only dinner option was $20. Lunch options expensive too ($10 for a pizza?). Ceiling fan installed but not working. Note that the cottages are on the quiet side of Nungwi, which is good and bad (it’s a 20 minute walk to the areas with restaurants etc).

The staff in the property is executed helpful and welcoming, had a small incident at check out though with the manager regarding my reservation.
The views in the Mahaba Rooms is fascinating.
Disliked 路 Location/view is highly affected by the tides, the hotel is extremely peaceful and is good for couples wanting to stay away from tourists.

The Hotel is nice and very clean as well.
Disliked 路 Their food is terrible! this needs a lot of improvement. One of our friend also lost a pair of jeans from the hanging lines and couldn’t “be found” even after giving the reception 3 full days to search.

We had a nice stay in mnarani cottages. The cottage room is not the biggest but ok, get cleaned every day and the bed is pretty comfortable. The area is really nice and relaxing, as it is off from nungwi beach. As you can walk easily during tide to the beach for us it was a perfect mix.

Nicely located away from the hustle and bustle of Nungwi this no hassle from beach boys. Cocktails were good. Room air conditioning was great. Superb view over the ocean from anywhere on the resort.
Disliked 路 Just a bit lack luster. Slow service from reception and housekeeping. We were in the new Mahaba house which could have had a few simple touches to finish it really nicely eg consistent toiletries, extra towels, bigger twin beds. They are great big rooms just a bit sparse. Our meal plan (half board) struggled with decent options for a vegetarian.

The Zanzibar house room was very nice, we had own balcony with hammock, a kitchenette area with kettle and teas and coffees and fridge. It was always clean, the cleaners look after the resort well.
The pool was decent, nice to lounge around. The resort is very green with lots of trees and plants around. The gardens are well maintained.
The best feature of our stay were the staff. They were always friendly and welcoming.
Disliked 路 This place is on the other side from where all the exciting activities are such as beaches, restaurants, bars etc. If you are looking for peace and quite then this might be a good option but otherwise look closer to the main resorts.
The dinner was hit and miss and the portions were tiny. We had to book our room with half-board as that was the only option. As there’s no local restaurants close by it was convenient but not very tasty and satisfying. On top of that you were always required to purchase a drink with dinner for extra costs including just water which was massively overpriced. Water was $2, the shops sell it for 1000 shillings. Beer was $4 which is the most expensive we have seen in all of Zanzibar. Half board should include at least a water in my opinion, they try to extort as much money as they can. Half board is definitely not a good value for money.
There’s no sandy beach around, there’s a tiny bit of beach as you walk down the stairs but it’s not what one imagines a beach to be like. It’s full of pebbles, sharp rocks, seaweed and garbage. The closest sandy beach is half an hour walk away through the village.

We stayed with the half board option and the food was good, breakfast was the standard Zanzibari fare of fruit and eggs, All very good. Situated away from the hustle and bustle Nungwi beach clubs. Great views from deck.
Disliked 路 Rooms slightly on small side, but one only needs it for sleeping. A kettle in the room would have been a good idea.
