Melia Zanzibar

Rarely do I go out of my way to give a review but MELIA exceeded my expectations. The staff was warm and friendly right from the beginning of our stay. We arrived way earlier than check in time and they still gave us a room. It was also my husbands birthday and they had the room decorated in rose petals and arranged for cake at dinner. The Greek head chef and Sous chef Aggrey asked what they could make for our 9 month old during every single meal time and went out of their way to have it for him. The care and hospitality at the hotel is incomparable. I could go on and on but here is a simple breakdown
Food- 10/10 (high end buffet style at breakfast and dinner. Definitely getting your moneys worth) a la carte options at lunch were lovely as well
Aesthetic- 10/10 grounds were beautiful and being out on the jetty felt like a dream
Cleanliness- 9/10 minus 1 point for all the insects on the balcony but this may be our of their control
Overall lovely experience and I will definitely be back!

I have been to Zanzibar several times, tried large and small boutique properties, Melia was the best no doubt. Staff is great, different facilities & options, largest bathroom I’ve seen in any hotel, and great food. Rooms, pools, food, staff all were amazing. Get the all inclusive offer.

Everything went more than amazingly well at this magnificent property. The view, the food, the staff, I have nothing negative to say about this property.

Disliked · The room we booked and saw pictures of wasn’t the room we received and that was a bit disappointing. We were also unaware that we’d need swim shoes as some areas of the beach have rocks.

Food, staff, location are excellent.
