Max Hotel Nungwi

There is a very good manager Osman and a very good chef who cooks seafood very tasty, their rooms were large, nice place

they arranged good excursions for me, this is a good hotel, everything was good. They cook deliciously

I highly recommended this hotel. Everything was perfect and it execeeded my expectation. Hotel is situated very close to the beach (the most beautifull beach in Nungwi) 5 min by walk. Also around the hotel are shops, farmacy, restaraunts, bars, butics and other. Hotel has very nice garden. We used it everyday for chill. Room which we had was perfect – quite big room with very comfortable bed and always clean. Also we had quite big drying rack on our terasse what was perfect to dry our swimming suites. They don’t have the mosqito net over the bed but on all windows are the nets. Top of this you have in room mosqito sprey which if you use just 10-15 min before sleeping whole night you can enjoy without mosqitos. In the garden is also BT speaker which you can connect and enjoy music during the stay there. Restaurant has perfect and tasty food. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Also they have a very nice young cat that we fall in love after first day. We give her name “Mina”. For breakfast you get always fruit, homemade pastries and eggs, everything very tasty.
Very important is to communicate with the hotel staff. If you dont’t like somethig just ask them, they are more than happy to change. If they don’t know that something is not OK for you then they are not able to change it and make your stay perfect.

I liked the clean and comfortable room with everything you need. The yard is very green, growing palms and bushes with beautiful flowers create a very good atmosphere. The courtyard is closed, so it is safe. Close to beaches and all key points of Nungwi. Lovely owners and staff. And there is also an amazing cat!

Excellent location close to the beaches but a little away from the hustle and bustle. Walk to the beach about 5-10 minutes. Compared to many hotels with an ocean view it is just a piece of paradise where you can take a break from the tourist bustle, but not far from all the necessary points. The road to them is illuminated, it is safe to walk even in the evening. Very beautiful, closed courtyard. Courteous and polite staff. The owners are charming and pleasant people. My separate love is the incredible cat Kokosik! I liked everything.

Disliked · Everything was excellent. Price for me a little bit high but room was very comfortable. I don’t know what to write like bed expirience because I did’t have.

Staff was friendly and pretty much there was nothing else to be liked.

Disliked · First, let me say it was my second time in Zanzibar so I knew what to expect.
The owner lacks the ability of a leader and has no experience whatsoever with running a a place like that.
The room I stayed in didn’t had a mosquito net around the bed so I expected that the windows mosquito net would keep us safe from the mosquitos. Unfortunatelly the gap between the windows is so large that it makes the net useless. If you use the provided spray to kill mosquitos it is only effective just for a few hours.
The breakfast is the plain and dull. You get omlette everyday but no bread or some kind of croissant to eat the eggs with. No cheese, no olives, no nothing extra. Just the omlette! How can somebody eat plain eggs eachday?
The water boiler is electric and they switch it off for some reason and they forget to turn it back on. We had two days in a row with no hot water.
The internet didn’t reached our room either. You can do wonders with a 15 – 20$ wireless router to extend wireless capability. You just need to care, thats all.
Now the worst part. Our room was situated close to eating area. We had an unpleasent experience with people drinking and making noise after 22 in the night. There were no indications for people staying there that it is common sense to keep quiet after 10 PM. The owner didn’t thought about this is advance so people were able to stay and party at the “hotel” instead of them going to the beach.
All in one I would not recommend this place at the moment. Hopefully things will change in the future.

Disliked · The rooms are small, the bed and pillow are very unconfortable. You get swallowed by the mattress and the pillow is very high. The hotel seems to be made for Russian as everything is written in Russian …

My husband and I liked the hotel, new and bright, and most importantly clean and comfortable rooms. The beach is nearby. The guys are great, they met us well and organized their leisure time. The breakfasts are delicious. We will definitely return to this paradise island and to this wonderful hotel)

Excellent continental breakfast. It is clear that no frills. But this is exactly what is promised. Cozy room, and not far from the ocean. There are places for chill on the territory, so in the evening you don’t have to make a choice between a place and a room. There is an opportunity to relax in the fresh air. The staff did not seem to be visible, but while leaving for a swim, they managed to clean up the room. At the same time, if you have any questions, you can always contact the administrator. Special thanks for the care and the airport transfer. I liked it very much. I recommend to everyone.

For the same price in Matemwe, we lived many times better, plus 3 swimming pools, but we must take into account that there are still fewer tourists there. Nungwi is a party area, therefore, the price is also much higher, I understand that at our price of about 50 tons for 5 days for two, this is not bad. Breakfast is standard, fruit, tea, coffee (although others include fresh juices), egg everything as it should be. The staff is polite, the room is cleaned every day, bed linen is changed daily, there is air conditioning (very helpful). The only thing that is not around the clock. Once we arrived at 4 in the morning, no one opened the gate, we had to climb Расстояние but not critical The distance to the Beach is close 3-5 minutes on foot. In general, I liked everything, I recommend it.
