Malindi Guest House

Liked · Thanks to the staff of Malindi Guesthouse, my stay has been a memorable one. As I was travelling alone, I felt safe and very much at home, here. David, the manager, went out of his way to help all the guests wherever he could, 24/7. He takes pride in his work!
Malindi Guesthouse is on walking distance from everything, also 5 minutes from the harbour. So it will be an excellent choice, if you decide to book this beautifull place, with reasonable prices.
Try it and see/experience it for yourself! 🙂

The breakfast was tasty, the location is fantastic and the is a restaurant down the street to eat. The room was well equipped with a air conditioning and a mosquito net. The view was incredible especially from the deck.

I enjoyed the character of the hostel, the location and the staff. The hostel is decorated with lots of old photos, custom cushion and furniture. It has a wooden feel to the hotel.

Disliked · The weak wifi connection and it may be a difficult hostel to find.

The property is about being green so there is a lot of recycled items that make up the furniture which is really cool! The concept of the hotel and the physical results of recycled items shows an effort toward trying to avoid trash in countries such as Tanzania. Support this good cause and this hostel that does this.

Awesome location, lovely staff and the best rooftop terrace. Yummy breakfast and clean rooms.

Disliked · We booked a quadruple room (it said 4 x single beds) and we turned up and there were only 3 beds – apparently there are no quadruple rooms. The tap in the bathroom also did not work.

Very interesting building with beautiful foyer and huge rooftop chill out area with a view. Great free breakfast. Helpful staff.

We really appriciatated that the receptionist was very nice to us and we store our luggage for a week for a free while we traveled around the island

Disliked · The room was simple and not hot water. The barhroom was not really nice. And the sheets smelled. If it would not smell I would recomend it. There was no insect inside.
Breakfast was average.

The guest house itself is epic! Everything seems frozen in time. My partner was in awe when he stepped into the building. The guy managing the place was really nice and mind. Allowed us to leave our bags until we had to go to the airport at night. Overall, really really great stay! 4 different fruits for breakfast is definitely a plus!
Location is decent, about 10 mins walk tk the centre.

Disliked · Wifi doesn’t reach the room.

This guest house is very stylish, the rooftop is simply amazing. We spent here two nights. In the room we had just a fan, no air-conditioning. The breakfast was okay, plate of fruit and then omelette + coffe/tea. The personal is very kind and helpful.

Disliked · The shared bathrooms are also very stylish, but not always the cleanest. No hot water later in the evening and no soap for washing hands after using the toilet

For sure price and localization. Also stuff! So helpfull!
Breakfast – on the rooftop, tasty and with fresh fruits. Great way to start the day.
Excelent place for short stay, if longer – more for backpackers.
No Wifi in my room, but on the recepction and rooftop and working quite ok.
When you arive at night, you can be a little scare of the localization, but it is only ilusion – neighborhood is really safe (just watch out like usual during the trip).

Disliked · When we came in the night we Heard there is No room for us , because it was „overbooked” by booking. And they can give us a room with4 beds for 3 times higher price than originally booked double room. Room was damp and dark.

I was given free breakfast even if I didn’t pay for it and the staff was helpful. The terrace is a good place to have a chat with other travelers.

Disliked · I paid 2 weeks in advance for a room that was then already given to someone else. Normally rooms are blocked for the dates the customer pays for…
