Comfortable rooms and beds, rooms with a large terrace and exceptional sea view. Very welcoming and helpful staff caring for your best experience. Great general manager, always helpful and available. Breakfast and dinner can be served on your terrace, which is perfect. Plenty of details in the from that make your stay easy. Almost in front of the Rock Restaurant, which is a must-see on this part of the island.

Disliked · Stairs to the 1st floor could be better lighted in the night, as it’s slightly too dark.
Bikes could be offered to guests to get to Kae to see the sunset.
Breakfast selection could be improved (only egg options).

Amazing, beautiful property, well designed, the attention to details is exquisite! Food is excellent we can see the owner is italian! The location is great peaceful and beach front with an amazing sandbank, clean and beautiful beach. Not to many beach boys to disturb u, and staff is friendly and kind, the gardener showed us all his plants so proudly and passionately, made us flower bracelets, gave us aloe vera from the garden to calm our sun burns, and made us discover a lot of exotic plants. The GM (Italian Lady) is friendly, well aware of what is happening and a great host.
They offer a tea and cookies in the afternoon which sounds delicious and a big plus for a afternoon snack!
We work in hospitality as well and we felt that this villa has done everything right! Out favorite hotel in whole Zanzibar.

I loved all the little extra touches to make the holiday memorable. In the room there is a beach bag a beach towel two sun hats two fans. I went snorkelling and I didn’t have beach shoes so they provided them at no extra cost. I asked did they have a yoga mat and they supplied me with very soon Sunbed lounge mat which was perfect. The breakfast was amazing They had home-made mango jam which was absolutely delicious. Massage lady was next door and the massage was $10 for one hour and was amazing. My snorkelling guide at the Villa was amazing when we got to the area he saw all the people sitting around enjoying the fish my guy had bread and jumped in with me gave the fishes bread and they all came all around me it was absolutely beautiful he snorkelled with me and show me all the fish told me all the names explained everything it was amazing and the coral amazing. We then went off to see the starfish once again it was an amazing trip he was so knowledgeable. We then went to the sandbank which was just so pretty. Dinner at the villa was absolutely delicious. And all the staff are very are so lovely. The Gardner made me a beautiful bracelet from the garden. The owner was never too busy to help and answer questions and she was lovely…So my two nights there was so memorable
Added bonus it was 200 m away from the rock restaurant so I could walk by the beach there and back. Another added bonus was the villa was in the middle of a lovely village.
I can’t wait to return next year

Hekaya Zanzibar has the best staff. When we arrived the room was ready and so clean. The interior design is so good. They take care of EVERY single detail. They take care of their guests. We just told them that we are on a plant based diet. And they adjusted the menu for us. It felt like home. The beach is 10 steps away from the bed. The pool is great and cleaned everyday. Truly from the moment we entered till the moment we left they took take care of us with small touches and small details. We will definitely come back.

It was a perfect stay at Hekaya hotel. Hotel is situated next to the beach. Every room has an amazing view at the ocean. The room is quite spacious. The food was really good. Small Boutique hotel at an excellent location.Spacious rooms with large and very comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom with all the amenities.Air conditioning is a must, it worked properly.My wife has gluten sensitivity and they solved this problem without any compromise.The staff is extremely friendly and professional. Elena and Godfrey(managers) went over and beyond to solve anything we asked for. If you want to stay only at one Hotel, this is it.

Very friendly, very warm and familier.
All rooms sea view ,the sea in the morning time only 5 meter from the rooms. Very cute pool area. Breakfast is very good and a la carte also deliciouse. Staff is very kindly. Bed is confortable, have aircondition in the room. Bathroom have hand shower also.

Wonderful stay at Hekaya, couldn’t fault anything! Beautiful hotel and rooms – it is small so feels very personal. Lots of small touches which really make a difference, e.g tea and biscuits in the afternoon. Pina colada at the hotel bar is delicious! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Close to other restaurants and bars. You won’t find better than this in the price bracket.

The location is on a magnificent beach that is very peaceful compared to the better known areas we stayed in and has great views of the famous Rock restaurant as well as a superb view from the hotel of one of the most impressive sunrises we have seen. It is very close to two excellent areas for snorkeling, and there is also access to a mangrove forest, and Elena is very helpful in arranging these trips at a very reasonable price with a private boat. Elena and the other staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, service was great, and we ate two nights and for lunch, all of which were delicious meals at a good price – the homemade pasta is especially good.

The attention to detail is exceptional from the furnishings to the service. Location is amazing perfect place to recharge. Place is super clean and rooms are spacious and comfortable. The view is paradise.

Disliked · However hard I tried to think about it I could not find anything, the place is pretty new and clean and the service was great. Although I was skeptical at first, as was expecting a different level of service as my 1ft time in Africa, I was plesantly surprised

Firstly, the staff is amazing, all greet you with a smile and attend any need
The location is Paradise you wake up in the morning and open the windows and all the colours in the world greet you
Hotel is clean amenities are adequate food is good, beach at your doorstep, what more do you want.
If you need a place to recharge this is the place. I’ve traveled the world and found few hotels like Hekaya

Disliked · It was difficult to find something wrong with this place, thought hard but nothing comes to mind.
Maybe everyone was too nice or too romantic or maybe everything moves at a different speed…… but “This is Africa” and you’re on holiday

The staff were amazing. Special mention for Godfrey and John. They were so welcoming and helpful. The food was awesome and truely good value for money. The room was spacious and clean. We had an amazing view. The wifi was free and fast. I could easily work from this hotel.
