The Best Place to Stay in Arusha by Far !
The Scenery beauty and the humbleness of the employee are compliments you do not want to miss when visiting Arusha.
Quietness of the Meeting rooms, speedy internet and the all day available refreshment gives the soothing effect and calmness of the mind gives you the best concentration you need for any decision making !!

We had such a great experience at Melia Arusha! The hotel is beautiful, very well kept, and has a gorgeous view of mount Meru. The staff, from the reception, the restaurants, to the spa and gym were the most genuinely nice personnel we had ever come across. The pool is large and gorgeous. The breakfast selection is great with a very nice mix of local (which I was excited about) and the standard continental food. The gym is much larger than most hotels’ gyms and has a goof variety of equipment. There is also a great sauna and spa. Highly recommend it if you are in Arusha.
Mr. Vickram Cheekoory, the food and beverage director – thank you for the great customer service and making us feel at home!

Unforgettable memories, rooms are spacious, clean and bed is very comfortable
The restaurant is great; they have really good pizza and a good atmosphere
We didn’t try any of the activities they offer, but they can organise you anything you want.

“Manager would not tell guests to wear a masks in common areas during Covid-19. Felt VERY uncomfortable and unsafe. I talked with manager about this but he REFUSED to ask guests to wear a mask. The staff wore masks..”

Overall great hotel just wished their service was up to par
Waited 40 minutes for water to be bought to my room and slow service with breakfast, had to wait to be noticed and get coffee. However great location

My friend and I had stayed at this Hotel for the New year’s 2020/21 . It is an excellent property with amazing view of the Mountain . They have an excellent garden and a walking track around there. The garden has a huge variety of different flowers and it is a very colorful scenery.
The staff are very welcoming and the Buffet breakfast is well defined. A lots of variety to choose from. I would suggest if you can add some options for vegetarians as there was hardly any Hot meal for them in the breakfast.
Overall – what a beautiful property and worth every penny spent.

I visited the hotel today for a breakfast buffet and chill to do my office works. The breakfast was great and heavy that has me sate to tomorrow but the treatment after was not so good from the staff! I was not allowed to get any comfortable than sit straight for my whole working time! Out of good will I made a guest to order drinks, sadly another staff during the ordering process came screaming at me that it was necessary and all! This was a very uncomfortable and embarrassing experience that I regret to have encountered!

We have been working remotely in Arusha for the past month. This week we needed a particularly fast internet connection and a beautiful hotel as we participated in a global online conference with our partner KYU collective. We couldnt have asked for a better location, amazing service, inspiring views and stunning gardens and Quite literally the fastest internet we experienced in the world from San Francisco to Istanbul.
We want to thank the GRan Melia team for their hospitality, for ensuring every detail was taken care of.
Tanzania has been an increidble location for remote working, with weekend travel opportunaties at your doorstep opening to some of the most exquisite wildlife and off road safari adventures.
We will back

My wife and I were staying for a single night at the Hotel. Everything was perfect – the check in experience, the room, cleaniliness, the atmosphere and the lush and vast garden up to check out. But the food certainly requires some improvement in that it needs to be tastier. It is just too plain. Variety wise it was superb. Am confident this will be improved on my next stay in Arusha at Melia.

My husband and I celebrated our 17th anniversary last weekend and decided to spoil ourselves with champagne and a meal at the Gran Melia in Arusha.
We had both been there before, and when we arrived we took a few minutes to walk around and enjoy the beautiful property (I include this statement to show that we were visible)
We decided on a seat near the pool bar and waited to be served. When no-one came, my husband went to the pool bar but could find no-one there, he went inside and approached a few staff who all said that the outside area was not where they worked, please go ask someone else (please note that no-one offered to find the relevant staff)
While I was waiting for my husband to return, a local couple walked into the same space as where we were sitting, and before they had actually fully sat down, a staff member basically ran over to them to give them service (he was wearing a bow tie, braces and had a name badge) The waiter saw me, but did not even nod or acknowledge that I was there.
This hotel is clearly making buckets of money during this pandemic and does not business.
I got up and left immediatley (we had been left unattended for over 15 minutes), my husband followed me out as he saw the situation as well upon walking back to our table.
He passed 2 managers near the door and told them the situation, no-one offered an apology or anything – but maybe my husband told them and left, I mean really, what sort of explanation could there be?

“Overall an excellent experience. The staff were absolutely wonderful particularly Brenda at reception who went out of her way to help us and Christian who was very polite and professional and always went beyond what was required. We stayed on the fifth floor and the views of mount meru were simply breathtaking, the bed was amazing comfortable and the shower was so powerful and relaxing. The garden was simply beautiful with waterfalls, exotic flora and fauna, tea plantation and a bar on top of a river!!! Just think about my stay there makes me want to come back!!!!”

After having recovered after 3 days of food poisoning I’ve decided to write this review. The hotel is everything you expect except the rooftop bar restaurant where I contracted food poisoning after I ate the prawns. I’ve never experienced food poisoning like this before, so my advice is simply avoid the restaurant is possible

“The Gran Melia is an excellent choice while staying in Arusha. A beautiful Oasis in this busy city which gives you a sense of belonging. Make sure you get the Mount Meru view which is breathtaking. Take a walk through the coffee and tea plantation or just lay by the pool to relax.”

It’s very rare to find a hotel in the world where the customer experience reaches the level which I’ve experienced here.
Key : training – consistency – follow up
After all this years of travel, I found a real 5* hotel. Well done to the team.
