Nice hotel, good location nearby ferry, clean and quiet rooms, but 1) do not order a taxi from them (when I check their price from airport to hotel I was shocked – 50$!!!), We ordered a taxi via UBER for the 5$. 2) check the price for the breakfast in advance! I added the photo of the menu in the room.. we ordered 2 English breakfast for the 35000 per person, but after breakfast they billed us 45000 per person and said “this is a new price, the price in the menu is not actual ”.. OMG, WHAT?! Finally, we negotiated for the price 40000 per person. So I don’t wanna come back here again.

Location was really ideal, as most areas in town, were within walking distance. The hotel itself is beautifully furnished and though we found the room a little small, it was nicely decorated and really clean. The breakfast option was lovely and we cannot compliment the staff enough on their friendliness and always wanting to lend a helping hand. Thank you to the entire team. From one Guest Relations Manager, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!

Shower didn’t have hot water and perhaps the option of a bar fridge with refreshments should be looked into.

The beds are incredibly comfortable and the porter remembered my name from the last time! The staff are very nice.

Disliked · I feel like the check in and check out process takes too long. I usually arrive late in the evening and catch a very early flight in the morning. I do say what time I’m checking out, so it shouldnt take too long.

Apart from its “easy to remember” name, the hotel appears to be just the same as it was when we first stayed in 2009. Dinner and breakfast are served in a large room on the first floor and there is lots of choice, although my pepper omelette with a sausage on the side turned into a pepper and sausage omelette! There is also a Thai restaurant on the top floor. Rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable and the bathroom facilities are very good.

Disliked · When we stayed here 10 years ago, it was simply the New Africa. It now seems not to know whether it’s a Sheraton or Marriott hotel. We were given upgrade to from the harbour view we had previously confirmed to a view of the building next door but as it was a one-night stay we didn’t mind. We were warned that two beds had been installed and this created something of an obstacle course. Soon after our arrival maintenance staff came to adjust the front door. Later by a further two staff came to “check the status of the room

Great breakfast, central location and staff went out of their way to help with any issues.

Disliked · Non-smoking room had evidence of smoking (tried two rooms), and finishes in the actual were not to the level anticipated.

Very friendly staff, good accomodation for Tanzania circumstances. diner also good. Aircondition also good and small swimming pool, although I didn’t use it.

Disliked · Last day prices were increased as change of the owner….. this is a minus and takes quite some time to get warm water in the bathroom.
