We stayed two nights and were more than happy with our choice of Stone Town hotel. We booked the top room and loved it. If you are not able to climb stairs tho this room would be unsuitable. We had no problem and enjoyed the exercise. We loved the outdoor bathroom, antique furniture and lead light window features.
Disliked · Breakfast was just ok and if you were unlucky and miss a table near the pool you were left to sit in a dark corner. We waited for people to leave as it wasn’t pleasant.

How close it was to most of the tourist attractions and the luxury of the hotel for what we paid was exceptional. The staff is also great.
Disliked · Nothing really

Absolutely fantastic! Great vibe, oldest hotel in Zanzibar. Traditional. Awesome staff who taught Swahili every morning. Beautiful rooms and stunning pool. And insane rooftop views!
Will stay here forever if we can!

The hotel is beautiful, with plenty of different areas to relax. It feels both sheltered and secluded. Staff were lovely.
Disliked · My room was a little noisy, being directly over the kitchen, but I was offered a change of room

Great colonial style interior. Perfect location. Very tasty and variable breakfast.
Disliked · Ask for a room with a ceiling above the bathroom)))

Excited interiors, great location, fresh sheets and amazing breakfasts.
Highly recommend this hotel for staying in Stone Town.
Disliked · As for me odd rooms – windows to corridor or bathroom without a ceiling 🙂 but they are ancient in any case.

Very good location, kind and helpfull staff.
Authentic rooms, good breakfast, nice pool.
The sunset is beautiful from the roof terrace. 🙂
Disliked · Unfortuantely the bed was too short for me and we went with our 5 years old daughter and for her there was no additional bed/bed linen/towel, nothing. We could solve the sleaping on the double bed, but an extra bed would have been useful.
The pool is in the inner courtyard, gets less sunlight, so it’s a bit colder than expected.

Good breakfast and good lication (except for the noisy street outside).
Disliked · It is really too noisy, and by that I don’t mean the traffic only. There is a lot of inside the hotel too.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Beautiful old decor. Situation was great
Disliked · We didn’t get the twin bed room that we booked. They had to bring in another bed and change us to another room.. but all was good

I think we were fortunate to choose room 40, which is fantastic.. The large suite, the panoramic view, the outdoor bath..
The hotel generally is a very nice old house, well located
The staff is great and really helpful. Best i saw in Zanzibar
Disliked · The breakfast and the restaurant in general is not bad but no great either. Often congested in the morning.
It maybe could be made nicer, also to look

The breakfast was classic, but tasty. Room amenities and the entire hotel were in a classic African colonial style, nothing “special” but clean. Hotel is good located in the centrum, a few metres from museum of Freddie Mercury.
